You know how I’ve been telling you to stock up on dairy products before the prices shoot up (like on BestThinking and Wise Bread)? If you’re a Safeway (or Dominick’s, etc.) shopper, check your personalized deals on Just for U for a potential stock-up-ortunity:
I have a personalized price of $5.50 for 32 oz. of cheese (excludes Swiss). If you have this deal too, that’s a pretty good deal in general for cheese — the only time I see a better price at Safeway/Dominick’s is the occasional $5 Friday. But the best part is that this price includes sharp cheddar, which is currently priced at $8.99, a full dollar over the $7.99 price for the other varieties.
On my Just for U, it says this price ends 9/25. So if you’ve got it, with the same ending date, hurry up. I grabbed three 32 oz. packages today (sharp cheddar, mild and mozzerella) and they all rang up $5.50.
Another great deal I have under Personalized Deals, also ending tomorrow: Ocean Spray Craisins at $1.69 per 5 oz. bag. These are on sale buy one, get one free, so I recently picked up four bags. My final price? Just $3.38 for 20 oz. That’s about $2.70 a pound. By comparison, dried cranberries from the bulk bin at my store were over $5 a pound.
