Here are the highlights for Chicago grocery sales April 25-May 2. Nothing really notable going on this week except that we are seeing more and more fresh produce on sale, which is always nice. Ice ream deals are starting to appear, although none were so awesome as to merit a mention in these highlights:
SALES THAT START WEDNESDAY
- Aldi: Kiwi 69 cents for 1 lb. Strawberries 99 cents for 1 lb. Pineapples 99 cents each. Gala apples $1.89 for 3 lbs. See Aldi weekly ads online. Find Aldi locations.
- Tony’s Finer Foods (a Centrella store): Eggs 79 cents per dozen. Chicken leg quarters 69 cents a pound. Limes 15/$1. See Tony’s locations and ads.
- Fair Share Super Market (a Centrella store): House-made Italian, Polish sausage or chorizo $1.99/lb. Asparagus $1.99/lb. Blueberries or blackberries 6 oz. for $1.99. Mangoes 49 cents apiece. See locations and specials.

SALES THAT START THURSDAY
- Jewel-Osco: Here’s something we haven’t seen in a long time: A “spend $20, get a $5 coupon” Catalina deal, on Nestle products. One possibility: Buy 2 tubs of Tidy Cats litter (27 pounds) for $10.99 apiece, use two $1 coupons from the 1/29 RedPlum, and you’ll pay $20, get $15 back, for a final price of $15 for 54 pounds of litter.* See Jewel locations and ad. - Dominick’s: $1.97/gallon milk is back on Just for U, limit 2, but remember you have to load it to your card again each week. Also on J4U, Lucerne Greek yogurt cups (6 oz.) are 59 cents apiece, limit 8, and Basic Lunchables are 88 cents, limit 3. If you didn’t get your free Ken’s Steakhouse salad dressing at Jewel last week, you can get it at Dominick’s Friday-Monday, when it’s on sale for 99 cents.
